Richard Sudek, Executive Director, and Chief Innovation Officer at Applied Innovation, was recently given the Luis Villalobos Award by the Tech Coast Angels (TCA) Board of Governors. Created by TCA to honor and memorialize Luis Villalobos, founder of Tech Coast Angels, the award has become an annual tradition for TCA, recognizing individuals who have provided outstanding contributions and extraordinary service to both TCA and the community.
Previously, Sudek served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for all of TCA and also served as President for the Orange County Chapter. In 2016, he helped establish the Angel Syndication Network (ASN), a monthly web meeting to share the best deals among more than twenty prominent angel groups. Sudek's efforts with the Cove were also noted in his receiving the award. TCA sees the Cove, where it hosts regular investor screenings, as a key catalyst for building the Orange County startup ecosystem.
Hai contributes to the Cove as a content writer for both the Currents newsletter and blog. As an alumnus of UCI with a degree in English and a co-founder of a local creative agency, Hai's focus is centered on spotlighting events, stories, and startups within the Orange County community.
